This historic Mount Macedon home, built in the 1890s, has been lovingly restored and reimagined for Charlotte’s young family. While carefully honouring its heritage, the transformation embraces colour, light, and comfort, layered with the unmistakeable energy and aesthetic of Charlotte Coote.

Undoubtedly the most loved space, the dining room, is painted in high-gloss pink, paying tribute to its past, when the room wore another joyful shade of pink some forty years earlier. The bold colour draws inspiration from the surrounding rhododendron garden and is complemented by original curtains, designed by Charlotte’s father for the previous owners. Sisal and timber elements provide a neutral counterpoint, while whimsical Pierre Frey dining chairs introduce artistry and movement. Overhead, a bespoke copper palm chandelier crowns the room, setting the scene for celebration and conviviality.

The master bedroom is conceived as a sanctuary of luxurious country calm. Draped in Colefax & Fowler’s Kendal Leaf and soft Irish linen, it feels both opulent and grounding. Bespoke bedside tables, detailed with arches that echo the home’s architecture, root the design firmly in place while elevating it with subtle sophistication.
